Longland Farm German Shepherds and Dogue de Bordeaux

About Longland Farm

*******We Keep and breed quality German Shepherds and Dogue de Bordeaux********

Puppies occasionally available to loving homes

We have been keeping and breeding German Shepherds for about ten years, after struggling to fit our growing doggy family in a 3 bed semi along with our growing family we decidedto take the plunge and move to an 11 acre smallholding near Wisbech on the Cambridgeshire/Norfolk border.  I have wanted a Dogue de Bordeaux ever since watching Turner and Hooch as a child and was lucky enough to be in the position to buy Mia (Cherry Brandy) 2 years ago.

All our dogs are family pets and our babies. They have excellent temperaments, I would not contemplate owning or breeding from a dog with a questionable temperament. Each dog can be seen on his or her own page.

We have recently acquired a small flock of registered Soay sheep. The Soay is on the Rare Breeds Survival Trust at risk register, they are a small, horned primative sheep from the Island of St Kilda off scotland. They are a very low maintenance breed of sheep, who moult every spring so do not need shearing, lessening the risk of fly strike and are also less prone to foot rot than regular breeds of sheep.

We will also be collecting some registered Wiltshire Horn sheep this year, ready for lambs next year

We do not have any lambs for sale this year but are expecting some in the Spring of 2010. They will be registered with the Soay sheep society or Wiltshire Horn Sheep Society, wormed, vaccinated and have a fly strike preventative applied.

We have also acquired 2 Pedigree Dexter cows with calfs at foot, who we will hopefully be putting to the bull in the near future, so all being well we will have 2 Regsitered Dexter Calfs for sale next year.

We are in a waiting list for some registered Oxford Sandy and Black weaners. They are a very rare breed of pig which we are hoping to breed, so we can sell either pedigree weaners or rare breed free range pork.

Our plan is to eventually sell pedigree rare breed lambs and piglets and to produce fantastic free range meat to sell at the farm gate. I will update the website as this becomes available........

As my website grows I will try to update details and add photos.
